Project Details

The Jordanian government has laid out its commitment to address
women’s low labor force participation prominently through the
Economic Modernization Agenda and the National Strategy for
Women. The need for equipping women to meet market demands, in
an enabling environment with change in traditional mind-set is at the
cornerstone for accelerating change and social justice, in a productive
and advanced society. This commitment is currently being
spearheaded through the ” Closing the Gender Gap Accelerator”
(CGGA) initiative in collaboration with the World Economic Forum
(WEF). In which the Business and Professional Women Association has
been identified to manage this intervention as its national coordinator,
with the leadership of the Jordanian government represented by the
Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation (MoPIC), the Crown
Prince Foundation, and the private sector, including Bank Al Etihad,
Hikma Pharmaceuticals and Oasis500.

Project Outcomes

Comprehensive Ecosystem Review Conducted an in-depth system analysis, mapping key stakeholders and reviewing national strategies and initiatives to align the accelerator’s goals with Jordan’s economic and gender priorities.
Strategic Action Plan Drafted : Developed a targeted, data-informed CGGA Action Plan guided by the World Economic Forum playbook, outlining high-impact, feasible interventions with clearly defined KPIs and responsible actors.
Collaborative Plan Validation : Facilitated inclusive validation through stakeholder workshops, one-on-one consultations, and taskforce feedback to ensure the Action Plan reflects diverse perspectives and sectoral realities.
Official Endorsement Secured: Achieved formal endorsement of the CGGA Action Plan by national taskforce co-chairs, paving the way for implementation and multi-sectoral collaboration toward closing the gender gap in Jordan.
