Who we are

Our Story

We are here for the passionate women who believe in the power of their dreams.

In 2003 a group of passionate and pioneering women in Jordan set out on a journey to help other women forge their path as business owners or leaders in the workforce, by utilizing their unique talents and capabilities, supporting them and motivating them to move beyond all barriers.

That is how BPWA came to light, established as an affiliate of the Geneva-based International Federation of Business and Professional Women, we are connected to a global network of business and professional women’s federations and clubs.

Today BPWA, a membership-based, non-profit organization carries out this mission on the belief that increased women participation is key to a stronger national economy.

We have come a long way since then, and while women participation in the economy in Jordan has evolved, we still have a long way to go. Is to become an integral contributor to the prosperity and wellbeing of the Jordanian society, business and professional communities. We do this through a wide range of developmental programs that aim at improving the quality of women’s participation in the workforce

That guides our work lies in our belief that collective energies create unlimited potential, and that gender participation increases overall productivity and thus competitiveness of our national economy.

Amal Daghlas

President

Amal Daghlas is a seasoned business development consultant and architect with over 35 years of experience in leading Local and global mega scale projects. She is deeply committed to empowering youth and women through strategic leadership, mentorship, and impactful community engagement.

Maissoun Sarraf

Owner's Representative for the Signia by Hilton Hotel. She is a strong believer in women economic empowerment and wants to ensure the continuity of BPWA's achieved growth and development.

Katia Tal

Katia Al Tal is a sculptor, artist, and educator who embraces a holistic, multicultural approach to inspire youth toward creativity, innovation, and global citizenship. She uses her leadership and social responsibility efforts to foster tolerance, collaboration, and positive change among young people.

Manal Milbes

Manal Milbes is the Founder and CEO of a creative enterprise, known for her visionary leadership in disruptive innovation and experiential design. As a strategic and creative director, she specializes in developing bold installations that blend art, technology, and impact.

Jenia Sabbagh

An Architectural Engineering graduate and passionate life coach, maximizes personal and professional potentials through coaching, emphasizing career guidance and volunteering to empower women and girls facing homelessness and poverty with Up With Women in Canada.

Nisreen Qatamish

Board Member

The Director General of the King Hussein Cancer Foundation in Jordan (KHCF), a prominent leader in social development, philanthropy, women's and youth issues, and development policies.

Rula Qatami

Board member

Rula Qatami is a pharmacist, parenting educator, and founder of Birth & Beyond, with over 15 years of experience supporting maternal and child health through education, advocacy, and community outreach. She is a recognized leader in promoting positive parenting and empowering mothers across the region.

Rasha Asfour

Board Member

Rasha Asfour is a fintech leader with over 23 years of experience in IT, innovation, strategic partnerships, and digital payments. She currently serves as General Manager of GatetoPay, leading efforts in growth and financial inclusion.

Mai Eleimat

Founder and CEO of Edmaaj for Development and Training Consulting, with over 20 years of experience in governance and public policy, stakeholder engagement, citizen voice and service delivery standards, gender equality and mainstreaming, and monitoring and evaluation.
