“Addressing Gender Disparities and Empowering Women in Trade: Promoting Inclusive Trade Policies for Women in Jordan”
Project Details:
BPWA, closely engaged with women in Jordan and trade stakeholders, observes a gap between the needs of women-owned businesses and available programs, leading to inefficient resource use. A systematic intervention is proposed, involving a collective committee with key stakeholders collaborating with USAID ERA to create a more inclusive trade environment. Emphasizing the necessity of accurate gender data for policy development, the proposal aims to investigate barriers, develop strategies, and promote gender-inclusive trade policies. This coordinated effort involving governments, civil society, and the private sector seeks to address cultural and social norms, contributing to gender equality and fostering economic growth.
