Project Details
The Launching Economic Achievement Program (LEAP) for Women in Jordan supports women’s economic empowerment through programming that seeks to address the high unemployment rates among Jordanian women and improvements to the enabling environment and culture regarding entrepreneurship and women in the workforce.

The primary target audience for the LEAP program includes Jordanian women facing challenges related to unemployment and entrepreneurship. This encompasses women who aspire to enter or remain in the workforce and those interested in entrepreneurial activities. Additionally, stakeholders such as policymakers, business leaders, and organizations involved in shaping the economic landscape and supporting women's empowerment initiatives are integral parts of the target audience.

Program Objectives

LEAP aims to enhance women's empowerment to foster sustainable economic growth. The program's intermediate outcomes encompass:

• Increasing productivity and job opportunities generated by women entrepreneurs
• Reducing gender-specific barriers to women’s entrepreneurship and to women entering and remaining in the workforce

The program consists of three interconnected components that synergistically cultivate a supportive cultural and institutional environment for women entrepreneurs, guiding them from high school through university into the business world.

1. Establishment and operation of a business incubator focused on women-led teams;

2. Development, enrichment and delivery of gender sensitive entrepreneurship curriculum and initiatives at Jordanian universities and schools Stakeholder capacity building campaign

BPWA spearheads the third project pillar, the Stakeholder Capacity Building Campaign in Jordan, aiming to boost engagement, coordination, and awareness among key stakeholders in both the public and private sectors. Through diverse activities, it seeks to improve understanding of barriers to women's workforce participation, highlight the economic value of increased women's involvement, and provide best practices for enhancing female engagement, including sharing relevant research and reports.
